Public Transport.

London’s public transport network is bloody awesome! The Underground or Tube as the locals call it, plus trains and buses means getting to your destination is a breeze.

Major Airports.

Heathrow (LHR) to the west. Served by the Piccadilly tube line or overground rail via Heathrow Express into Paddington station. The Heathrow Express can be fairly pricey for a 25min journey so if you’re not in a hurry, jump on the Tube.

Gatwick (LGW) to the south. Served only by overground rail into Victoria. station.

Transport for London (TFL).

These guys run the public transport services in London - as such, Tube and buses are all linked using the same payment system. Either use an Oyster card (prepaid card bought from all Tube stations) or simply use a credit/debit card to “Tap in, Tap out” (touch the card to the yellow readers) - just ensure you use the same card or you could get charged for multiple journeys, and no-one wants that!

More info can be found on the TFL website. Their app is also a life saver for finding your way around: TFL Go.

Taxis, Uber, Lyft.

Standard rules here - London Black cabs are all over the city. If the yellow/orange light is turned on, they’re open for business, just give them a wave!

If you prefer the digital method, then London also makes use of Uber. As always, just be vigilant that whoever picks you up is a registered driver.

To our knowledge, Lyft currently isn’t active in London.
